52 Suburbs Around the World

I have been a long time fan and friend of Louise Hawson and her ’52 Suburbs in a year’ Sydney photography project: a search for beauty in the Sydney ‘burbs. I followed her blog and arranged to meet her when she came and shot my suburb. The amazing project went on to be exhibited here and then published in a gorgeous book that can be purchased here!

When I found out she was starting a new project which was photographing 52 cities around the world over the course of a whole year, I was so excited! And even more excited to be asked to shoot her profile portraits for her new website below. Louise and her daughter, Coco fly out today to spend the next 12 months photographing the world! Be sure to follow them!

Photo a Day – Instagram Summer Days

Long time followers of this blog will know that I do a-photo-a-day every summer holiday. It’s a chance to grow as a photographer and focus my lens on my loved ones (as opposed to my wonderful clients who get me all year!) Then all the images are bound into a beautiful album for my family – yes album! Remember those?:)

I am embracing the notion of ‘the best camera is often the one you have on you’ and letting go of the need to lug expensive equipment around. So this year’s theme is the fabulous app, Instagram and square format on my iPhone 4 – Look me up!

Studio News 2012

Caspix is now closed for bookings for 2011 and will repoen with my first wedding on January 14th followed by portrait sessions in Melbourne and I will still be answering emails.

Please note in 2012 I will be limiting my weddings and portraits to only two a month. Combined with my charity work for Heartfelt and family commitments of 4 children, this is the best way I can meet everyone’s requirements …. so please get in touch as soon as you can if you wish to talk about your wedding as I am over close to 50% full for weddings next year. However do not despair, I will be resuming a full schedule for 2013!

2012 will be a big year for me with lots of destination weddings booked already along with Sydney and interstate portraits ….. you will also see lots of Caspix weddings printed in the big glossy bride magazines across Australia!

Instagram and Us

I have been busy wrapping up the year and having a fabulous time on Instagram this past few weeks. Best.app.evahhh!

Sometimes the best camera is the one you have with you and inspired by Tara Whitney, with whom we had a fab family shoot last year in California (wow, I was only 18wks pregnant in those pics) and I have started a personal tumblr site to remember my ‘little things’ like school milkshakes, walks in Centennial Park, photos with Santa, Sydney City Christmas Lights, Bondi Beach, santa lists and some school holiday fun like baths in the morning and late nights…

You may have even seen them already on my twitter if you follow me there.
