Wedding: Blue Mountains

Every now and then, I am blessed to shoot a sweet, laid back mountain side wedding.

I met Irene through my charity work with Heartfelt and felt so lucky to have been invited into her family life for the day when she married the love of her life. Irene has such a lovely inviting way about her and so has her beautiful mother and it was so lovely to spend time with them both, being shown around the family home where Irene grew up and listening to her mother’s stories about her husband, who unfortunately is no longer with us. She spoke of him constantly as they took me all around the house admiring his handy work, as he was quite the handy man.

You could see how proud he had been of this home and what he built for his family … and Irene made sure he was included in her wedding day as much as possible. If you look closely, he is in quite a few photographs, as well as being a part of Irene’s bouquet so he could be there when her mother walked her down the aisle.

I highly recommend choosing a family home to prepare for your wedding day, as there are so many little stories that add to the history and my storytelling approach of the day.

And Bert, well he just couldn’t stop smiling all.day! His family were amazing to meet as well, so many strong beautiful women in one place. Congratulations to you both, I wish you many years of happiness!

Wedding: Hunter Valley

It was a sunny, wild and windy on the day A+P were married. Beautiful, crisp and full of excitement.

Through my years of shooting and being a part of these special days, I have found it intriguing that weddings are all the same yet each one is totally different. Each have their own rhythm and special touches yet they all focus on a few main ingredients, love, togetherness, good food and celebration.

This day had it all and so many of the couples special touches: the groom broke out in song at the altar, the bride read her vows from her iphone and the restaurant was one of the most beautiful and rustic I have ever seen. Family and friends came from far and wide to celebrate.. enjoy the sneak peek!
